Normative

"Pesca, Disfruta y Devuelve" (fishing, catch and release) is the slogan of posters where show the rules in Chilean Rivers.

License

All Chilean or foreign person older than twelve years old must have fishing license to fish.
We provide you this license.

Fishing:

From the second saturday of November to the first Saturday of April
River: Allow three captures 35 cm maximun sized.
Lakes: Allow three free sized captures

Fishing No Kill (Catch And Release)

From the second Friday of October to the first Sunday of May.

Baits

The law allow only the use of artificial baits always with a simple hook.

Recomended Outfit

A lot of ours customers have asked us about the proper Outfit to avoid carry too much material. This is our opinion about the outfit according to our experience. Although last choice is always yours.

Rods:

• To fishing with dry flies rods of 9' for lines 4# to little Rivers
• To fishing with nymph rods of 10' - 11' for lines 4#
• For fishing with streammer and dry flies rods of 9' for lines of 6# for big Rivers And lakes

Then whit a rod 4# and other of 6# we cover all necessities, the rods 10' and 11' to fishing with nymph is a suggestion because this technique is now very popular.

Lines:

• Float lines 4# and 6#
• Sinking line Teeny 200 type or Shooting Head for fishing with streamer in Rivers or lakes

Flies

• Dry : Adams, Caddis, Elk Hair, Royal Wulff, Goddard Caddis, May flies
• Emergentes: Klinkhammer
• Nymph: Prince, Montana, Hares Ear, Pheasant Tail, Copper John
• Streamer: Woolly Bugger Olives, Browns and Blacks, Zonker Blacks and Olives
• Chernobyl Ant fly essential to fishing in the Ñireguao river.

Other Outfit

Also suggests this other equipment, basic but important, and remember that fishing season in Coyhaique is in spring-summer:

• Stockingfoots waders best
• Polainas
• Boots with Studded Felt Soles
• Cup
• Polarized sunglasses
• Solar protection cream
• Net, required in some rivers
• Cape
• Termic T-Shirts

In the lodge exists a medicine cabinet, but we will be some persons, therefore it's recommendable that every one has a little kit with sanitary material and medicines (analgesics, collyrium, antacids...) just in case empties lodge's medicine cabinet.
